Mr. Avtandil stated in an interview with us  - “I’ve worked at National Center of Surgery for 44 years. Throughout the period, we, surgeons, have managed numerous complicated cases and saved the lives of many patients. I’d like to remember one of the clinical cases. 6 years ago a young man referred to the General Surgery Department with acute polyorganic failure of severe hemorrhagic pancreatic necrosis. There was no hope of saving his life because of severe health condition. Albeit, conducted operations and daily fight of medical personnel won over death! Today, patient feels well, lives a normal life and never forgets to congratulate us on important occasions, that’s how he expresses his gratitude. Fortunately,  I can remember many such cases. I love to watch scientific-educational and sports programs in my free time. I’m also fascinated with cosmology. I love to play chess. Swimming is my hobby – played water polo since the first grade, became a captain of the Dinamo Tbilisi youth team. I could never forget the fact that I was moved to the big team of Tbilisi Dinamo, because of my success in 9th grade. I’m a water polo champion of Georgia and won many other awards. I wouldn’t change anything in my career and private life! I’m happy with my family – have extraordinary spouse, children, and grandchildren. I'm proud of the path I took in my private life, as well as professional life"
