Menopause, climacteric is a physiological stage in woman’s life.
Menopause progression is individual for every female, for example, if for one woman it is associated with menstrual cycle cessation, others have complaints regarding certain discomforts characterizing menopause.

Head of the obstretics and gynecology department of National Center of Surgery, Mindia Iobashvili discusses it with us.
Mr. Iobashvili states - "It is presumed that serious disorders connected to menopause can be avoided with following three major mechanisms: hormone deficiency filling, healthy and balanced nutrition, sufficient physical activity"
Mr. Iobashvili advises:
- Do regular physical exercises. It improves blood circulation and facilitates calcium supplementation in bones and, also, nourishment of organs vital for life.
- Filling the hormone deficiency increases bone density, reduces risk of cardiovascular disease almost to half.
- Problems related to urinary bladder and vaginal dryness can be solved with local treatments (estrogen-containing creams and vaginal candles are effective);
- Healthy and balanced meal implies consuming food enriched with calcium and cutting down animal fat and dough product intake.
- It is recommended to include vegetable food enriched with vitamins,
- In order for you to sleep peacefully without hot flushes, do not dress in tight nightwear. Air your bedroom before sleeping and do not sleep in a warm room;
- Maximally avoid stressful environment;
- Say no to cigarette and alcoholic drinks;
- Reduce caffeine intake;
- It is recommended to have a peaceful sleep for 8 hours;
- If for some reason, you’re not able to exercise, take a walk and enjoy the clean air.
