World Prostate Cancer Awareness Day

The National Center of Surgery provides free prostate cancer screening

World Prostate Cancer Awareness Day is celebrated on November 17 each year, with the primary purpose of raising awareness among cancer patients and potential patients. According to the tragic statistics, one out of every eight men will develop prostate cancer.

Regarding its prevalance, prostate cancer was the third most common tumor in the United States by 2020, trailing only breast and lung cancer. It was identified in 1,414,259 (7.3%) of all oncology cases globally. 375,304 of these patients died. Prostate cancer has been diagnosed in approximately 250,000 men in the United States alone this year (2021), with over 34,000 already dying.

It is now well understood that prompt diagnosis is one of the criteria for effective treatment and illness eradication. As a result, there is a definite need for prostate cancer screening for middle-aged males (aged 40-50 years).

To that purpose, the National Center of Surgery provides free prostate cancer screening (Prostate-Specific Antigen PSA determination) for men aged 50-70!
