Greetings,
Heart rate i.e. the number of heart compressions depends on the amount of blood heart sends into the blood vessels.
On a physiology basis, heart rate increases under physical stress. In adults, a normal pulse can be 60-80 per minute, in athletes - 40-60, in aged and weakened people it can reach 90-100 per minute.
If the hear rate in a relaxed state is less than 60, the patient has bradycardia.
In our clinic, an arrhythmia is diagnosed using various examinations:
- Electrocardiography – It's an examination method recording the electrical activity of the heart;
- Holter monitoring – small portable device records continuous electrocardiogram from the body surface in 24-48 hours;
- Stress test – This test is used for diagnosing arrhythmia that occurs upon physical stress. It's also feasible to establish a relationship between arrhythmia and coronary artery diseases if existed;
- Cardioechography – It can establish whether or not is the cause of arrhythmia a heart muscle or valve disease;
- Coronary arteriography (coronarography) – This examination establishes the state of blood-supplying (coronary) arteries of the heart and it’s feasible to establish if there’s any relationship between arrhythmia and blood-supplying arteries disease.
You may visit our clinic for consultation with a cardiologist, where based on medical history and conducted study data, the doctor will select a necessary examination for diagnostics and afterward give you instructions on treatment.
