Is mountain air good for pregnant woman?

Every pregnant woman adjusts to the environment differently.

Compared to the lowlands and not to mention, cities with polluted air, the air in the mountain is crystal clear. The air in Shuamta (at an altitude of 1200-1500 meters above the sea level) is especially good for your health.

Mountain air is especially curative.

Head of the outpatient obstetrics and gynecology of the clinic "New Life", National Center of Surgery, Obstetrician-Gynecologist Tatia Tskhomelidze discusses the topic.

Dr. Tatia – "If the pregnant woman experiences dizziness, headache, general weakness, the feeling of receiving insufficient oxygen, she should change the environment. Keep in mind that mountain air has numerous health benefits, but resting in the mountains is associated with the increase of arterial pressure. Albeit, if the pregnancy proceeds physiologically without any complications and the pregnant woman follows healthy nutrition, sleeps well and walks, then the vacation in the mountains doesn't cause particular harm.

During pregnancy, the need for oxygen increases by 25-30% and hence, it's not hard to guess how necessary is it to take a walk in the fresh air, especially before going to sleep. Before any trips, always consult with your personal doctor first, since s/he knows your health condition better than anyone else”

Wish you health!
