The working visit to the National Center of Surgery was carried out by the official expert of the clinic - Maia Jughashvili-Hernandez.
Mrs. Maia is a leading specialist of the Spain Genesis Care Multidisciplinary Institute of Oncology, member of the ESTRO international radiation oncologists’ public relation committee and associate professor at the Murcia University.
In the radiotherapy department treatment tactic for oncologic patients is determined by the Tumor Board’s joint discourse and discussions that consists of the various specialists. Mrs. Maia is one of the important board members.
Within the working visit, the National Center of Surgery organized a free of charge counseling sessions for oncologic patients. Counseling sessions were carried out by the professor and mainly focused on radiation therapy-related issues. Moreover, numerous useful recommendations were given to patients undergoing the treatment.
Mrs. Maia together with the team of the radiotherapy department assessed the past period and alongside the clinic’s directorate and the head of the radiotherapy department discussed the future plans.
