Summer is quite a convenient period for intoxication and infectious diseases.
As a rule, during vacation people tend to prefer prepared products and visit fast-food chains to save time.
If you don't want for the food intoxication or gastrointestinal infections to ruin the long-awaited vacation, pay close attention to what you consume, eat or drink.
Gastroenterologist of the National Center of Surgery Eka Zalikiani discusses the topic.
It’s recommended to keep in mind the following:
- Frequently wash your hands with soap and running water;
- Eat a large amount of well-washed fruits, vegetables, thermally processed meat products;
- Avoid eating food prepared in an open space and fast-food restaurants. Especially meat products, fatty, smoked, semi-smoked and canned foods;
- Limit cakes and creamy pastries in your nutrition since they are perishable products;
- Before buying milk or dairy products, pay close attention to the expiration date and storage conditions;
- Frequently drink water;
- Keep in mind that in the summer season, the chances of alcohol intoxication is very high.
Wish you health!
